Where to Buy a Mobile Phone in Serbia?

Where to Buy…

Buying a mobile phone can be an exciting but also somewhat stressful process. With so many stores and options available, it’s important to know where to find the best device for your needs at the best price. Here are some options you should consider when buying a mobile phone in Serbia.

Large Shopping Centers

Take for example:

Ušće Shopping Center and Delta City, the two largest shopping centers in Belgrade.

These malls have a large number of one-stop shops, where you can find phones.

From premium models such as iPhone and Samsung, to more affordable model options such as budget-class phones from Xiaomi and Huawei.

A certain part of customers is happy to shop in shopping centers, whether out of habit or a sense of security and the shopping experience itself.

Specialized Stores

Specialized stores such as Tehnomanija, Gigatron, Mobilni Market or WinWin are excellent places to buy mobile phones.

These stores often have a wide selection of models, regular discounts and expert salespeople who can help you choose the right device.

When we say “specialized”, we mean the sale of electronic devices, smartphones and related equipment.

If you are looking for a store where you will immediately get an offer of a phone model without walking around huge shopping centers, opt for shopping in such establishments.

Also, some of these stores have their own services for resolving complaints, which will provide you with a repair service, phone replacement or refund in a slightly shorter period of time.

Mobile Telephony Operators

All major mobile operators in Serbia, such as MTS, Yettel, and A1, have their stores throughout Serbia.

Buying a phone from a carrier can be an interesting option, especially if you plan to get a phone with a contract.

They offer paying for the phone in installments with different tariff packages that come with a contractual obligation of usually 2 years.

For buyers who are only looking for a phone (they don’t need a tariff package or don’t want to be bound by a contract), we recommend that it is still a more favorable option to buy the phone in a store, in installments through your bank or company, and even through ads from verified sellers.

Online Stores (domestic and foreign) and ads

Buying phones online is becoming an increasingly popular option due to often lower prices than in Serbia.

Some of the reliable online sites in Serbia and the world include KupujemProdajem, AliExpress, Amazon…

It is recommended to check the reviews and ratings of the sellers before making a purchase.

Also, foreign sites can be tricky to get a warranty, often a real nightmare. So just be careful, or seek advice from someone who has already shopped (shopping outside of Serbia).

Used Phones

If you want to save money, consider buying a used phone.

KupujemProdajem is the most popular site for buying used phones in Serbia. Also, many specialized stores offer a warranty on used devices, which can be a safer option. The advice is to always choose a seller who has a physical location.

Bring someone who knows how to use phones.

Never pay in advance.

Ask for personal or company information if the purchase is made exclusively online.

Fairs and Electronic Flea Markets

Serbia is known for its electronic flea markets. These flea markets can be a great place to find bargain phones, but be CAREFUL and check the device before paying. A cat in the bag is often the result of such purchases, especially for people who are unable to recognize the warning signs on the phone, in the software or in communication with the seller (he sells phones from the trunk of a car).

Tips for Buying

  1. Compare Prices: Before you decide to buy, compare prices in different stores and online to make sure you are getting the best deal and a fair price.
  2. Check the Warranty: Make sure the phone comes with a warranty, fiscal receipt, if you buy from a physical store or online.
  3. Read Reviews: User reviews can help you make a good decision about which phone model to choose, and where to buy. People are happy to share a positive shopping experience, but also a negative one.
  4. Be careful when buying: If you buy from classifieds, the market or from unverified sellers online, do everything you can to ensure that the phone is not working, has a problem with its operation, or may have been obtained illegally. Saving a few tens of euros can cost you money, time and nerves.
  5. DO NOT RUSH: This is perhaps the most important advice. Give yourself a day or two to look at all the offers and options. The phone you buy will probably stay with you for a year, two or more… Look at the purchase as an investment, regardless of the price of the phone.
